Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) better known by her real title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho on October 21, 2016 was released via Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she began to get the attention of her peers. The album that she released as her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading songs to the Internet in 2012, after which she debuted her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she debuted new music through the internet including Bound. On the 21st of July in 2015, she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's remark. In the following season, the music was circulating through Dreamville. On December 8th, that she'd been signed to Dreamville Records. She was featured on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, the artist released her debut album entitled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and performed as an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. The singer also performed on the track Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus alongside Bas as her labelmates. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The first single, called Whipped Cream From the album was released on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a an accompanying music video. In November, she released singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On November 13 two new singles called No One and pedigree. She was featured with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, and then made the track available on her own single to accompany her debut album. It was released with the release of a music video on February 20, 2019, which it surpassed 3 million views on YouTube within one week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
